Today I am doing a 'First Impression' video where I share my first impression with you, while opening a product and using it and giving my opinion about it at the same time. I do not call it a 'Review' as such since I am only sharing what I think of it in the first instance. Sometimes, I already know whether I do like a product or not at the first use of it. Things like punches, and shape cutting system, papers, stamps...are the kind of product I can tell you right at the start whether I like them or not. I suppose , products like ink pad, sprays, paints are the kind of products where I have to use and test them a few times before I can give you a more indepth opinion.
Anyway, today I am sharing my views on the Shape Cutter System by Xcut. As mentioned in my video, these products have been bought by my school ( my work place where I am currently teaching Art), for my Craft Club. I have been running a Craft Club over the last 6 years or so and it has proved to be very popular. The girls love it. And I do not have to tell you how I enjoy it myself as I get to share all my crafty secrets, projects with the girls and they learn new skills and very often, I have learnt new design ideas from them too! My students are fantastic and very creative. I am very honoured to be teaching them.
I was offered some funding to get resources for my Craft Club. I decided to order from Craftsuperstore, an online store which I love shopping at. They also have great sales as well. Do check the website out as they have some fantastic deals at the moment. Also do check out my Haul Videos from my youtube channel HERE , so you get an idea what kind of deal you can get from them.
First off, I have got the following:-

Next is the following:-
Xcut Shape Cutter System (7pcs) Oval & Circle Tracks & Cutter Carriage

My first impression was that the templates are lightweight and they are made from plastics. They are very easy to use. In the video, I have used my Self Healing mat at first and I could not glide the mechanism as easily as I did when I used a Glass Cutting Mat. Watch the video for more details about this.
Then I moved on to the following punches:-
Tonic Studios Simplicity Geared Pattern Punch - Delicate Lattice Border
This is a beautiful edge punch, which is very easy on the hand. It cuts beautifully and it does exactly what it says on the packaging. I am in love with this, totally!

Xcut Detailed Border Punch - Large Dotted Scallop

and last but not least,
Xcut Border Punch - Ribbon Bow

The punches are all very easy on the hand. What I mean by this is, they are easy to punch with, and they also cut through paper like butter. I have used up to 200 gsm , and I have used DCWV textured paper as well, which is slightly heavier than 200gsm.
Please note that these are my honest opinion about these products. I will always give you my honest feedback as I know, I would expect a crafter I follow, to be just that: Genuine and Honest. You can count on me to stay true to my words. My integrity means a lot to me. So fear not my friends!
When I am reviewing a product sent to me, I always mention that too. These products have been bought by my school for my Craft Club. I wanted to do a video mostly for my students so they can watch as many times as they want and understand the prodcuts they will be working with.
